Cytoplasmatic Inheritance Shown in the Light Green - Dark Green Varieation of Willow Herb Leaves (Epilobium angustifolium)

a: Typical, complex pattern at the summit of the separation. Mixed cell areas become the developmental centre of new spots whose thickness and size is dependent on the starting combination.

b: The separation occurs early during leaf development. As a consequence, large, clearly separated, "colourless"
(= yellow) and dark green areas develop. (P. MICHAELIS, 1954, 1966)
