Flavine Adenine Dinucleotide

Half-cell reaction:

FADH₂ ==> FAD⁺ + 2H⁺ + 2e^-

Flavines can be oxidized and reduced through 1-electron reactions involving intermediate semiquinone states. A detailed description of the similar reactions for the quinoe/quinol (hydroquinone) system can be found HERE.
