Male cone to 3.5 cm long and 1-1.5 cm wide; microsporophylls broadly rounded with a narrow flange, exposed; pollen sacs 7-12. Female cone globular or ovoid, 5.5-8 cm long by 5-7.8 cm wide, scales nearly triangular, exposed part of scale extends the entire width of the scale, upper corners of scales usually angular and rigid, scales with a small scallop 1/6 size of the scale near the base.
