Shoots spreading in all directions, not in a single plane, very slender (less than 1 mm in diameter). Leaves very small, 1 mm long, bluish-green, indistinctly glandular. Cones globose, 2-2.5 cm across, usually composed of 8 scales, rather flat. Seed 3.5 mm long, reddish-brown. Cotyledons 2" (1).Differs from its close relative C. sempervirens, "in its slenderer branchlets (about [0.6-0.9 mm] diameter), with very small, bright or bluish-green, obscurely glandular leaves about [1.25 mm] long" (2).
